I need a pick me up today. I'm going to pick myself up by writing about my baby who is becoming more and more of a big girl every day. She can speak in one and two word phrases and also in sentences!!! I don't know that every person in the world would understand what she is saying but I totally get her! Mind you, this child is only 19 months old....I'm considering sentences a BIG accomplishment! Here are some things she has said to me in the past week (with how her words sound first and then the translation).
Mommy, wha-er did Daddy doe?(Mommy, where did Daddy go?)
Wha-er is Hayyee? I don't see.... (Where is Haley? I don't see) ...Haley is our dog btw :)
Whaa dis! (Watch this!)
Wha-er is Bubba? (Where is Bubba?) Oh, tha-er he is! (Oh, there he is!)
Whas dat? (What's that?)
We where riding in the car and she had a coughing spell. I looked back at her and with no prompting she said, "Mommy, I otay (ok)."
We were watching Hop in my bed Saturday night. I said, "I'm going to the kitchen, I'll be right back." She said, "Mommy! No! You way down! (You lay down!)."
She is getting a *little* interested in potty training. She will go into the bathroom after she has gone potty and say, "Potty." The other day I caught her in the act and I said, "Let's go sit on the potty." She said, "No, no, no. I all done."
I love this little girl!

Weekend in Aggieland!
The Hub's cousin got married on Saturday in Aggieland. She grew up as the daughter of Aggies and went on to become an Aggie herself! She always wanted an Aggieland wedding....and she got one!
I was overjoyed to go back "home" this past weekend, especially since I haven't been in over three years. I lived in College Station for 5 years and it really does feel like home to me in many ways. It is such a wonderful, magical place for me with so many good memories. It is a brutally long drive, around 7 hours to be exact. Thankfully, the kids did great. Hopefully we have many trips in our future back to my favorite town in Texas!

Thank goodness for car DVD players!
Doesn't she look happy?
Our family of five under the Century Tree in 2012. This is the spot where we got engaged over 12 years ago!
I love these future Aggies!
The big kids and their dad went to the George Bush Presidential Library during baby's nap time.
Wedding time! Of course I have no photo of the bride!
Is this not the sweetest thing you have ever seen?

My Challenge for Lent
I used to think of myself as an organized person. I try to keep things nice and tidy and in some kind of order. Order and cleanness are so calming for me. I am not truly comfortable unless I have those two things.
However, I have three kids. Three really messy kids. And I have a husband. A husband whom I adore that is a "pile-r" (he makes piles---piles of receipts, piles of magazines, piles of little notes he writes to himself) and he is a pack rat. Its hard to keep up with everything. And I've discovered that for the first 18 month of any one of my baby's lives I definitely lose track of keeping things in order. Did I mention that the baby turned 19 months this weekend? It's time to get things back in order!
I totally missed out on the whole "40 bags in 40 days" phenomenon. The basic premise is that you clean out 40 areas in your home for 40 days during lent. My friend Becca said she was doing it for lent and I thought, that is GENIUS!!!! This is what I need in my life RIGHT NOW! I know that doing this will not only purge all the "junk" out of my life but I really feel like it center me as well. I can totally see this as a way to connect myself to God.
I missed the boat, like I said above, and didn't get started until the second week of lent. I'd already given up candy (how childish is it that I'm addicted to candy and felt compelled to give it up for lent---uh!). Anyway, I'm sticking with no candy AND I'm doing 40 bags in 40 days--I'm just doing an extra bag a day here and then and doing something small on Sundays instead of taking the day off.
I saw an episode of Oprah once on organizing. She said, "The area in your home that has the most chaos is the area of your life where you struggle the most." She's freakin' brilliant. My closet and kitchen--pretty organized. Does this mean I like to cook and like clothes? I think so......We don't have a study right now, we moved our study out to give the baby a room. So our computer and desk are in our formal sitting room. Our filing cabinet is in a hallway and everything that wouldn't fit is in the baby's closet. It is a chaos creating situation for me. Oprah's right. This is where I'm struggling.
I found this printable on another blog to help me track my progress. Here is what I've done so far (I covered our names):
I'm not even half-way through and I'm feeling so liberated! I'll give an update (and maybe some photos) later and let you know how I'm doing!

The Three Piggy Opera
Words cannot express my pride! My little girl ROCKS! She played the part of The Big Bad Wolf today and she was totally awesome!!!!!!
Because there is a morning and an afternoon session of pre-school for K-3 and K-4 there were two performances. The other Kindergarten class had speaking parts in the morning and our class had speaking parts in the afternoon. My little bit was a background "piggy" for the morning show. As you can see, even in the back row, we have full on DRAMA!
Now for the afternoon--- This is what you have to do when your 18 month old is missing nap time. Walk the gym while you wait! She held up like a trouper though!
There she is!
Look at these faces, ya'll!
I want a big fat pig to eat, yummy yummy yummy, ummm umm good!
I'll Huff and I'll Puff and I'll blow your house down!
OH no! She couldn't blow the brick house down! She fell in a pot of stew and burned her tail! She was never heard from again.....
Until she had to take a bow that is......
Good job friends! I am so proud of ALL of you!
