I vow to post Christmas next week----
In celebration of the New Year, instead of resolutions I'm going to list 14
things about each one of my darlings. I'm not doing so hot on this whole "my blog is my scrapbook" thing lately, so I'm going to try to do better in 2014. I thought this would be a fun way for me to remember where we are right now!
My Boy:
1. When the Hubs folds laundry, he often puts his jeans in my pile. This makes me very sad. (Not that I have the body of a ten year old boy, because I sooooo don't. It's a height thing!).
2. He loves math. He can multiply things in his head faster than I can repeat them. He memorizes math facts for fun. He loves square roots. I have no clue where he gets it. It ain't from is momma.
3. He is a voracious reader. I love it when he reads a book and then tells me he would love for me to read it because he thinks I would like it. He makes my heart smile.
4. He is athletically challenged. I'm ok with this.
5. He loves to roller skate.
6. He is obsessed with all things Military.
7. He knows lots of stuff about Amelia Earhart. Ask him.
8. He would rather be at home than anywhere else in the world.
9. While he does have friends (his teachers tell me that he is very well liked and respected)---he chooses to sit alone almost everyday to eat lunch. He says that he needs to a little time to himself. I get that.
10. He has a mean sweet tooth.
11. His favorite food is tacos. He hates pasta.
12. He loves Dr. Pepper and was allowed his first one probably two years ago. I have to watch him like a hawk or he orders one every time we go to dinner or to the movie!
13. He is the sweetest, most compassionate boy I know. He constantly gives things to his sisters that he has earned. He hardly ever asks for anything.
14. He looks just like his daddy. I love him so very much.
Lollipop:
1. This kid loves life. She lives big and hard. She is constantly covered in bruises. Her gymnastics coach calls her "Five hour energy."
2. She is a creator. She spends time everyday making something. She paints, she builds, she sews, she knits, she glues, she tapes, she……. She is messy and wonderful!
3. She is 8 and LOVES footie pajamas.
4. She makes up songs and teaches them to everyone in her class. And they all sing them!
5. She is the funniest person I know. I don't even know how to explain it---she just cracks us up everyday!
6. Her favorite food on earth is an Italian Sandwich from Firehouse Subs. She can eat a bigger one than anyone else in the family.
7. She loves manis and pedis.
8. She loves hanging out and spending the night with her friends. She would rather be doing something--somewhere, anywhere than be at home.
9. She is the pogo stick champion of the world. She got one for Christmas and her record is about 120 jumps in a row.
10. Fearless.
11. She hates math. Cries over how frustrated she gets doing homework. Can two kids be more different? She made a 101 on her last math test---I would have bought her the moon if I could have.
12. She wants to be in a play on a stage more than anything.
13. She is always, always upside down. In the middle of a cartwheel or a flip is how she spends most of her time.
14. She loves babies to the extreme. She is the best big sister anyone could ever ask for. I could explode with love for this girl!
My Baby Gumdrop:
1. My baby is not a baby anymore. She is fiercely independent. She only wants help when it is her idea.
2. She is the snuggliest snuggler in the world. She will crawl up on my lap at any given moment. Even though she is independent she is very much Momma's girl.
3. All of her plural words have the "es" sound at the end. She wants to wear her "jeanes (jeans)" today. I'd like to read my "bookes (books)" now. We've adapted her way of speaking (which is probably not a good thing!).
4. She loves her some orange juice.
5. She has a new best friend every hour or so. Daddy is my best friend. Ashlin is my best friend. Hudson is my best friend. Mommy is my best friend. I'm glad she has so many!
6. Hates being dressed up. Hates girly stuff. Refuses to let me do anything with that beautiful hair most of the time.
7. She is not fearless, but she loves fast things.
8. She adores popsicles. She doesn't think a day is complete unless she's had one.
9. She loves our dogs.
10. She plays with trucks and babies at the same time.
11. She prays every night by starting with, "Dear God….. I wish….."
It's adorable.
12. Hates cake. Loves ice cream.
13. She loves Paw Patrol on Nickelodeon. She pronounces it "Chaw-- "P" troll"
14. She will play by herself for hours. She will read books, play with her toys, and color. I can't imagine life without her.
